Message from the President
The Toshiaki Ogasawara Memorial Foundation supports individuals with the potential to develop new value.
From the moment he established Nifco Inc. in 1967, my grandfather Toshiaki Ogasawara worked tirelessly to develop and supply plastic fasteners by pursuing the most innovative engineering and manufacturing techniques. Through his experience, he realized that progress in science and technology was essential to ensuring the continuous supply of products that satisfy the needs of society as well as realizing advanced quality, outstanding functions, and affordable prices. His dream was to support innovative science and technology to create a prosperous society. To realize this dream, the Ogasawara Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Engineering, the predecessor of the Toshiaki Ogasawara Memorial Foundation, was established in September 1986.
We believe innovations are possible when researchers and engineers in different fields gather for discussions and research that breaks through conventional thinking. Shaping such innovations into practical use means improving our lives and bettering our society. In order to realize this, it is essential to have a can-do spirit and the motivation to create new values on a global level.
To fulfill my grandfather's dream, we continue to promote progress in science and technology and, since June 2020, the Foundation has changed its name to the Toshiaki Ogasawara Memorial Foundation to encompass the promotion of arts and culture.
It is my hope to carry forth the legacy of the Toshiaki Ogasawara Memorial Foundation as we contribute to the enrichment of society in the arts, sciences and technology.
